Teagan Marti,
one year later.
A very touching 14th birthday wish for Teagan from the Wilgis family and friends.
 |
It is hard to believe that a year has come and gone
since the heartrending day last summer when it was first reported that Teagan had been involved in a tragic
amusement park accident and that her chances of survival were uncertain. Now, a year later, and
almost 14, Teagan has made amazing progress. Due to the fierce determination that has always been a part of
her personality and the devotion of her incredible therapy team, family, friends, and supporters, Teagan has regained
much of the independence she lost. She is able to walk short distances with the aid of a walker and has
returned to her studies via a virtual on-line school where she nervously anticipates beginning high school work.

However, even with all of the milestones she has reached throughout her recovery thus far,
Teagan still has a distance to go. For now, her days still consist of therapy, doctor appointments or virtual school but
there is further surgery on the horizon. If Teagan keeps working as hard as she always has, and continues to have the love
and support that has surrounded her since this chapter in her life began, there is every reason to believe that she will keep
beating the odds and continue on the road to recovery. |
 |
Teagan and her family still cannot find the words to adequately express how much the love and prayers of their family, friends, and strangers (some of whom they now count among their friends) have given them strength through some very dark and difficult days. They know that the power of love cannot be underestimated and that it is the source of miracles. Thank you from the bottom of their hearts to all who have demonstrated their love and compassion and continue to Hope, Help and Heal.

The Walk for Teagan at the 2nd Annual Margaux's Miracles Foundation walkathon was attended by more than 350 people.
The community came out to show their local support not only to resident Teagan Marti but, also in support of Margaux's Miracles Foundation.
